A Thought to ponder

I came across this article an in finishing it's graces
it seemed as though it is an alarming results
below is of it's outcome:

An interesting example of social breakdown in a crowded population of experimental animals was created by John Calhoun at the National Institutes of health in the late 1960's and early 1970's.1 Calhoun created a "Utopian environment" for mice to study the effect of exponential population growth on social behavior.

The mouse environment was a 101-inch-square pen with 54-inch-high walls, constructed with nesting boxes on the walls to maximize breeding space. The floor of the environment was covered with ground corn cob, and paper strips were providing as nesting material. Calhoun provided adequate food and water in regularly spaced hoppers. The room temperature was relatively stable during the years of the experiment.

Calhoun put four male and four female laboratory mice into this space on July 9, 1968. The first 104 days, which Calhoun called "Phase A," were characterized by social turmoil as the mice adjusted to their new environment. The first litter was born at 104 days, and the population began to expand exponentially, doubling every 55 days. This was "Phase B." At day 315, with a population of 620 weaned mice, the population growth abruptly slowed to a doubling time of 145 days; this was "Phase C."

At this time, the social structure began to deteriorate and violence levels increased.

... there was no room for emigration. As the unusually large number of young gained adulthood, they had to remain, and they (contested) for roles in the filled social system. Males who failed withdrew physically and psychologically; they became very inactive and aggregated in large pools near the centre of the floor of the universe. From this point on they no longer initiated interaction with their established associates, nor did their behavior elicit attack by territorial males. Even so, they became characterized by many wounds and much scar tissue as a result of attacks by other withdrawn males.... Female counterparts of these withdrawn males tended to withdraw to higher level boxes that were less preferred by females with litters. Such females were not characterized by the violent aggression of the withdrawn males.

Mouse fertility decreased, baby mice were abandoned, fetuses spontaneously aborted, and maternal behavior disappeared. The dominant male mice could no longer defend all their territory from the masses of males, and began less and less to defend the nesting sites they were associated with. Thus, the nesting sites became exposed to "invasion," and in response, the nesting females became aggressive, taking over the role of the dominant males. The aggression carried over to their offspring: the mothers attacked their young, wounded them and forced them to leave the nest early. All social interactions between the mice were of short duration and superficial, and no real courtship or parenting behavior could develop.

The population peaked at 2,200 mice on day 560. No baby mice survived infancy after day 600, and the population began a decline. The last conception was about day 920. An attention toward the end to add some healthy mice failed to rejuvenate the population. Calhoun reported that on June 22, 1972, there were only 122 survivors.

IS YOUR THOUGHTS MAKING YOU UNHAPPY . CONSCIOUS EFFORTS IN DISCOVER OF NEGATIVE THINKING

IS YOUR THOUGHTS MAKING YOU UNHAPPY
IS YOUR BRAIN PLAYING TRICKS ON YOU ......

I myself did not create or write this or re edit it.
It is in its original content as it was found .
In all I found it worthy of interest and the ability to pass it on is the inspirational point .
my posting link to this can be found here > http://illusionsofcomplexthoughtsandassociat.blogspot.com/

ORIGINAL WRITER POSTING LINK > POSTED BELOW

Is your mind playing tricks on you and robbing you of your happiness?

Our minds are complex and are often our own worst enemies when it comes to being happy. Really. Our own brains that we know and love deceive us into thinking something is right when it is really wrong, that we’re in love when we’re not, etc. Recognizing and debunking these traps your mind leads you into is essential to realizing a lasting happiness.

Check out this list to see if you are being deceived by your own mind!

I’d be happier if I just had less to do.

Our minds often try to trick us into thinking we’d be happier if we didn’t have to work. We imagine a life of leisure and deceive ourselves into thinking this kind of lifestyle would make us happy. However, the truth is that idleness often leads to boredom and depression. We are industrious, creative beings. We need challenge and accomplishment to be happy. Get up and invest yourself into something significant and you will find that your happiness factor will rise.

It’s not me, it’s you.

Many times our minds lead us to believe we are unhappy due to our spouse, parents, or some other person in our lives. We throw blame around like food in a middle school cafeteria. Of course, it takes two to tango. As Dr. Phil asks, “How’s that workin‘ for ya?” Generally, we are as much, if not more, to blame than others in our lives. We need to accept responsibility for our situation and do our part to make the best of it. Taking personal responsibility for our actions is the beginning of true happiness.

I just need to discover the secret to success to be happy.

I am convinced that there are no “secrets” to happiness or success. As much as authors, publishers, and our own minds would like to convince us that shortcuts exist, they do not. Living a successful life is pretty simple. You create a vision for the future, formulate a strategy, and then work hard to achieve it. There are no shortcuts or secrets to this formula. Accepting this will get you much further down the path to happiness than anything else.

If I just had ...

Our minds deceive us into thinking we’ll be happy when we get the right job or the right house or the right car or whatever.
There is nothing wrong with wanting better things or circumstances, but these do not automatically make us happy. They may create a temporary high, but this quickly wears off. Those wanting a lasting happiness must acknowledge that this is a bottomless pit that we can never fill.

I know I shouldn’t, but …

Our minds try to trick us into denying the effects of our bad habits and rationalizing our behavior with flimsy excuses. This seems especially common with health issues. For example, have you heard someone say, “I know I shouldn’t smoke, but it helps me keep the weight off.” Or, how about, “I know I shouldn’t eat this, but life just isn’t worth living if I can’t enjoy it.” A major health issue like cancer, heart disease, or diabetes will certainly challenge your happiness. Don’t let your mind get away with this trick!

Dreams only come true for those that are lucky.

Thomas Jefferson said, “I’m a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it.” Our minds will sometimes trick us into thinking we are victims of fate.
They will lead us to believe “nothing good will come of it "
I like things just the way they are and never want them to change.

Believing this is just letting yourself be set up for a fall.
Life is a journey of constant change. Some of which we control and some we don’t. Resisting change or trying to control the change out of life is self-defeating. It will drain you and rob you of your happiness. Change is inevitable. You must accept this and learn to go with the flow. Being adaptable is very important to your happiness.

If it hasn’t happened yet for me, it never will.

Our minds often get discouraged and disillusioned when success is just around the corner for us. Colonel Sanders didn’t start franchising his KFC restaurants until he was sixty-five, forty years after he started serving chicken at his service station. Perseverance is very important in achieving happiness. Never let your mind trick you into giving up. You don’t know what tomorrow holds. One more day may be all it will take to realize your dream!

I’ll just avoid the things I don’t like doing.

It is usually the difficult tasks that our minds try to trick us into avoiding. Unfortunately, these are oftentimes the very things that would result in the greatest rewards for us. What do you put off doing? Why? Procrastination and avoidance of completing important tasks or resolving nagging issues only delays your march to happiness. Attack these head-on and you will find a deep sense of gratification that will fuel your happiness.

The world is scary and something bad might happen to me.

Our minds tell us there are a lot of things beyond our control. For instance, the way that crime and terror is sensationalized on television might lead us to think that bad guys are lurking around every corner waiting to do dastardly deeds to us. However, crime rates have actually fallen in recent years. According to FBI statistics, violent crime is lower now than it was twenty years ago!
Fear is a powerful emotion our brains use to get the better of us. We must seek and trust the facts to break free and be happy.

I’ll decide when I know for sure what to do.

Over-thinking every decision will leave you stymied. Weighing the risks, analyzing the possibilities, and making a plan are important, but nothing ever happens until a decision is made and action is taken. We very rarely have perfect information when making choices. Stop sweating it so much! Failure is not the end of the world. Napoleon Hill writes, “Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit.”

Don’t let your mind trap you into over-analyzing everything!

It never happens to me.

What our brains credit as the luck of others, generally is the result of years of practice, hard work and preparation. Pursue your dream with your whole heart and you might be surprised at the “luck” that comes your way.

I could never …
Our brains often trick us into thinking we can’t. For example, have you heard,

“I could never go back to school. I don’t have the money.” or “I can’t learn to do that. I’m too old.” Don’t fall for this trick! Your mind is very persuasive in the way it uses this one. It will lead you around like a dog on a leash if you let it. You are full of potential and although your circumstances might add a degree of difficulty, it is nothing that a little persistence and ingenuity can’t overcome.
Henry Ford said,:
“Whether you think that you can, or that you can’t, you are usually right.”
Don’t let these tricks steal your happiness!

See how our minds play tricks on us?

If you identified with one or more of the cons on this list, don’t despair.

The truth will set you free!

You now have the power to overcome these deceptions because you can see right through them. Enjoy your new found happiness!

What's on your heart and mind today?

in response to Miller...   As a painting contractor , as I have been for over 40years the best grant you can give someone is the overwhelming power of word of mouth and referal to others . No other factor spreads more quickly an does more good that an effective reference. To others that one thing has more relative meaning than anything else . Of course gifts are fine but think of whom you know n how much you can help by telling others of your friends abilities an good deeds.

What's on your heart and mind today?

In response to making money online .
Respectfully the reality behind making money online is there is more scams than ever it is certainly getting out of hand .
As such a serious blogger as I am even the facts are prevalent the more you do the more chance of getting relative advertisements correlating to your page content.
I did find a new place recently it is called hubpages.com . There you can write pretty much what you like and in the realization of making money there is quite a few of alternate sources to make money from. Along with Google Adsense there is Amazon , Ebay an a few other that can be aligned with your page elements . The Adsense account set up is quite easy especially if you have a publisher I.D. set up with Google .
As I have posted here several times setting up a blog on blogger.com or blogspot.com is about the easiest way to get started in writing blogs . There you get a publisher ID which also can be used here on aidpages with the advertisement sharing program . Which by the way is also quite easy to set up an establish an alternative reflection of your work . A point to share is casual an serious content either or can an will be recognized an  provide a great way of benefiting from your writing skills no matter how far along or serious you may be in the profession of writing blogs . It was daunting at first to realize the variable content relations  an understanding the essence of blogging but in all after getting the basic page set up generating an account with Google an realizing an experiencing the ease of setting photos advertisements etc. It soon became easier an easier to accomplish the tasks at hand . Creatively it is always an inspiration to create your very own page . Although the check in the mail every month is the greatest sense of accomplishment in your work an finding out these checks go on forever the internet never ends . The expansion rate is incredible after awhile your visitor ratings go up n up an it is surprising to see that several thousand visitors a month is seeing an viewing your work . The comments show you more a sense of realization when your readers respond in the comment columns an or link up with your blog . An with followers they get an e mail each an every time you repost to your blog or column. Which is a sure way of getting a constant return from your readers . There is quite a bit of details to explain at this time . Which can be quite lengthy . I have several previous pages here that may help understand more not to have to repost them over n over so feel free to revieve some of the blogging referense an how to make money online posting I have done in the past it may certainly help you get a fresh understanding an acquire the essense an understanding to help you  get started . But if anyone has any questions or needs help getting set up an started down a path of at home income producing work that is entirely yours an yours alone . feel free to contact me here anytime . I check in once an awhile usually two to three times a week . So it may pass a few day's before I respond but in all I try my best to respond to any an all inquiry's .
Cheers to all here on Aidpages            Sincerely    Dirtdog

What's on your heart and mind today?

A 92-year-old, petite, well-poised and proud man, who is fully dressed each morning by eight o'clock, with his hair fashionably combed and shaved perfectly, even though he is legally blind, moved to a nursing home today. His wife of 70 years recently passed away, making the move necessary.
After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home, he smiled sweetly when told his room was ready. As he maneuvered his walker to the elevator, I provided a visual description of his tiny room, including the eyelet sheets that had been hung on his window.
"I love it", he stated with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old having just been presented with a new puppy.
"Mr. Jones, you haven't seen the room; just wait."
"That doesn't have anything to do with it", he replied.  "Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time. Whether I like my room or not doesn't depend on how the furniture is arranged ... it's how I arrange my mind. I already decided to love it.  It's a decision I make every morning when I wake up. I have a choice; I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I have with the parts of my body that no longer work, or get out of bed and be thankful for the ones that do.  Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open, I'll focus on the new day and all the happy memories I've stored away, just for this time in my life.  Old age is like a bank account.  You withdraw from what you've put in.  So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank account of memories! Thank you for your part in filling my Memory Bank. I am still depositing.
Remember the five simple rules to be happy:

1. Free your heart from hatred.
2. Free your mind from worries.
3. Live simply.
4. Give more.
5. Expect less.
Have a nice day, unless you already have other plans.
